Memorial Day

We had the best Memorial Day weekend trip with our cousins and such, up to their family cabin at Smith and Moorhouse. The trip was a short, inexpensive, easy one night get-away, just like our quick trip to Vernal last Fall, and just like Vernal, our kids are saying it was one of our best trips ever.

Out for a walk

 Uncle Russ taking the kids for 4-wheel rides...I'm not going to lie, I don't like 4-wheelers, I think they are dangerous and foolish but, he was on a regular road and being cautious (I sure hope). 

Ashley loved it, she loves everything. 

Hailey wanted to go but, quickly decided she didn't like it at all. Fine by me! 

Andrew loved it and begged to go faster.

The next day we went fishing at the reservoir. 

 It felt like we'd been there about 5 minutes when Ashley and Dave caught a fish with Ashley's Dora the Explorer pole!

 Andrew was feeling pretty discouraged.

Then, another 5 minutes go by and guess who's caught another fish...Lucky Ashley, of course.

So, Andrew starts working with Dave, and even using the Dora pole since his Batman pole broke. They tried and tried and tried. All the cousins and adults tried and tried and tried. Ashley was probably wondering why they didn't just catch a fish and get it over with. But, after a LONG time, with no more fish, we called it quits. Andrew felt pretty disappointed but, that's how it goes and he got over it. 

 Hailey loved throwing rocks in the lake! 

 Then, on the way home we went to the Kamas swimming pool. It was so fun. Hailey was having such a fun time she was almost delirious. 

 Ashley went down the slide about a million times

 Andrew loved the slide and the diving board too. We had just the best time!

We visited Grandma Karma on Memorial Day too. She was such a sweetie. Andrew and Ashley talk about her often. Ashley recently told me a whole narrative about how when she is an old Grandma she is going to make cookies for all her grand kids and then when she gets old she will say, "Good bye, I am going to die now". And then she said she was sure Grandma Karma was making cookies for us in heaven right now.
