Andrew and Ashley both started another year of soccer with their same teams. Games started the first weekend of September. I only took a few pictures at Andrew's first game and none at Ashley's! Oops.

Last year Ashley loved playing soccer and she ran fast but, she was usually near the back of the pack and didn't get in there and go after the ball. This year she is much more aggressive, focused and still just as happy. She has been getting in there, kicking the ball more and harder, running faster and feeling proud of herself too. She is tough too. In each of her 3 games so far she has done so well and beams when she gets some good kicks in. We love cheering Ashley on!

Andrew has been such a great soccer player the past few years and has usually been able to score a lot, block a lot and rarely played a team that was better. We told him that this year he would notice that the other kids have grown and probably improved a lot, the field is longer, and it would be harder. Well, that is definitely true. Andrew is still a great player but, he is having to work a lot harder, is getting worn out, and is not having the easy success he was loving. Andrew is lucky because he is so fast. And, defensively he has gotten a bit better and has managed to have some pretty awesome blocks. But, getting goals has gotten harder. I always tell him that a block is as good as a goal and he's had several each game. In his first 3 games he's had 1 goal (his team won 5 to 3), 2 goals (won 5 or 6 to 3) and 1 goal (lost 5 or 4 to 3). Andrew has done so well and is loving it!
In between games the girls got every last bounce in before the bounce house was taken away!
