Happy 3rd Birthday Hailey Baby!

Hailey is 3 year old!
Hailey turned 3 on August 30th! We had great plans for a day of fun but, instead poor Andrew came home early from school with a throbbing ear, so we had to take him to the doctor and pharmacy because he had 2 ear infections! After that we headed home and worked fast to be ready for our families to come over and celebrate Hailey!

Here is her day!
H shaped pancakes for breakfast.
This cute girl is so sweet and sassy, and so shy and tentative all at once!
If you can believe it, this was our family's first princess party!

Hailey chose the pink poodle pinata
The cousin crew. I had not planned on having her birthday cake on the front lawn! But, everyone was having so much fun out there that that's what we did. From left to right it's Ethan, Mac, Andrew, Will, Damon, Alyssa, Hailey, Callie, Katie (holding a fire started of all things!) and Ashley.
I loved when we sang to Hailey because she sang so loudly to herself too, just like she'd been doing for weeks.
Hailey got some new princess wear, tea sets, baby doll, stuffed dogs, pink ball and Sofia the first toys too. She was well spoiled and was excited about it all, and so was Ashley!
We have become a princess household the past few months! Luckily these princesses also love animals, bugs, dirt and tackling too.
Hailey came to our family as the easiest, most delightful baby! I had worried that baby #3 would be hard but instead it was our easiest transition of all. Hailey immediately stole my heart and her cute dimple smile makes me happy each day.  She continued to be easy as a toddler until the day she learned to climb out of her crib. Now we call her a rock star sleeper because she crashes unpredictably during the days and stays up way too late. We call her Hailey and Hay Hay most, and occasionally Hazel. She often introduces herself as Hay Hay. Her interests are similar to Ashley; she loves dogs and most animals but, it's Hailey who introduced us to the love of girly things. She is wild, loud and fun to be with at home and with her siblings and cousins, yet she is very shy and reserved around others. She still goes on and off of phases when she won't stay in nursery at church unless I stay too. She is sensitive and cautious too and stays away from rides and big slides, and needs a bit more time to warm up to new activities. She loves her pink 'Blanken' and her left thumb so much and loves to name every dog or doll Bida (Bee-Duh) and sometimes Wuza. She climbs into bed between Dave and I most nights but, it is so late/early and she is so sneaky that I rarely notice until morning. She loves her Nana and always wants to go to Kim's house. She loves loud music, dancing, potty talk, getting tickled and being naked. She is a great big sister and will lay her body as a barricade at the top of the stairs if Katie is coming close and yell: She's falling down the "Terrs". She is 3 and so she's a mess making, trouble making, opinionated little girl who sometimes has to have things just so. But, she is a good listener, a good helper, and very, very nice. Hailey always seems to want to eat! She eats often but, doesn't eat very much at a time. She tries and likes more foods than Andrew and Ashley but, what she really wants is candy and snacks! At her 3-year old well check she measured 35.4 inches (15th%) and weighed 25.2 lbs (4th%). We were thrilled to see that she grew 3.5 inches this year and gained 4.2 lbs, and stayed on the charts! Really, I love her small size because I can carry her and Katie at the same time easily and she's so easy. We love our Hailey and feel proud of her each day. She is a wonderful, sweet, charming, loving little one. I so wish I could hold her as a baby again, just for a little while.
