We went to Donut Falls on Labor Day and had a great time. As we were walking up lots of people were talking about the moose so, we knew he was around. I had Katie in a front pack and Ashley on my side when this moose is just right there in the bushes just off the path. I turned right around! Dave, Andrew and Hailey were just behind us, along with a handful of others we didn't know and they all stood close-by watching. Did you know that moose are VERY dangerous?! He walked right out of the brush, across the path to the other side as if none of us were even there.
Ashley has endless possibilities. When she grows up she wants to be a veterinarian, a fire fighter, an artist, a doctor, a cowgirl, and "everything that is important". She could do all of those easily! She loves animals, nature, exploring and doing. The other day she found a grasshopper that she loved. After a bit she put him down and somehow he ended up on top of the fence (maybe she put him there). One of Andrew's playmates was throwing things up at it but didn't hit it. She was hysterical and personally hurt. She told me "He hurt a creature!" She might grow up to be a tree-hugger too.
Once we got to the Falls, Dave took Andrew and Ashley up while Hailey, Kate and I waited. Andrew was off and having the best time. A pair of moms I didn't know were chatting next to me and one noticed Andrew scaling up all on his own and said something about how the little boy in the orange looked determined and adventurous. Yep.
Ashley needed a little help from Daddy from time to time but, she loved it and was just as determined and happy as could be.
We were there too!
