We don't skip a beat celebrating birthdays around here! Andrew's 7th Birthday is just two days after Hailey's and we were ready for more partying! This year Andrew's birthday fell on a Sunday and on Labor Day weekend so, we decided to celebrate with family on his birthday and to have his party the following Friday. (Another post, another day)
Andrew got legos, legos, and some more legos (he is mostly into Chima Legos right now), Skylander action figures, and the Green Machine bike, which was fun even for the adults to try. He loves it.
Andrew was disappointed that his birthday dinner had to be at home, since it was Sunday, so he asked for hamburgers and hotdogs and pizza. We had a fun bbq dinner and luckily, we had lots of pizza left over from Hailey's party that we could heat up for him. Andrew requested Birthday Brownies rather than birthday cake and we were all thrilled about that!
Andrew is a sweet, wonderful, sensitive, giving, caring, cuddly, pleasing, friendly, shy, smart little boy who shares his body and mind with a social, loud, sassy, athletic, adventurous, mischievous, daring, naughty, homework hating, pre-teen. He is a wonderful friend to me and so very special yet lately we have had some trying moments. Andrew makes friends so quickly and I'm constantly amazed at how many calls he gets for playdates. I can't keep up with his social calendar and yet, he starts out quiet and reserved in new groups. He is so smart and has learned so much so quickly and yet he despises even simple homework and reading practice. He can be so sweet and darling to his little sisters and then ditch Ashley on the bus so he can be with buddies. He is well behaved in class and at others' homes but, loves to tease and use potty talk the moment he gets home. My best guess is that he is so young and is trying to figure out just who he is and how he fits in. I have always loved Andrew too, too much. I miss him everyday while he is at school and love to hug him right after he's off those bus steps. I am proud of him. He means everything to me and always will.
