Katie turns 2!

Happy 2nd Birthday beautiful Katie baby! We love you! 

Katie's birthday is September 24th. This year that happened to be a very, very busy Wednesday. And not busy with fun but busy with things that had to be done. The entire morning was spent with different people coming in and out of the house, (like the piano tuner for our newly purchased used piano that I'm excited about). Poor Katie didn't even get a nap on her own birthday! Hailey had preschool in the afternoon, then it was straight to SEP conferences at the school in the later afternoon for both Andrew and Ashley. Then home to put the finishing touches on her cake before family came over. Then to make it worse, when the cousins arrived everyone was running around the house crazily and Katie fell off a couch and bonked her head hard enough that she was a little out of it for a few minutes and looked pale and miserable while we sang happy birthday. 

 She started to perk up after another minute. 

 She wasn't sure what to do with the presents at first but, she caught on and had fun opening her new gifts. 

 Her favorite might have been another baby and stroller from Rich and Marianne. She loves babies! 

 Everyone else had a fun time celebrating Katie too! Little did we know that the next day would be a very, very exciting one too!

Katie's Birthday wall

 Katie is a sweet, wonderful, beautiful little lady. Katie is smart. She understands everything and is quick to obey instructions. She is observant and loves to imitate what she sees. Katie likes to climb and loves to jump, run and dance. She is an excellent eater and is growing tall. Katie adores being tickled and chased most of all. She wants to go, go, go wherever anyone else might be going. She still isn't speaking as much as we'd like, she has about 65 words (including names and animal sounds), but she is improving and chatters all the time, even if we can't understand more than those 65 words. She loves to sit in her chair and listen to books. She loves baby dolls, dogs, dress ups and shoes. She is loud, funny and cuddly.  She loves to play with toys and can keep herself entertained on her own for a bit too. She brings us the remote and says show and likes to watch about half if someone is with her. Her poodle blanket is still beloved and we're proud she is off of bottles and on to sippy cups and still drinking milk. We love Katie and feel like her first 2 years went by in a blink! Happy Birthday sweet girl!
