Andrew played Flag Football this Fall. His team was named the Young Utes. The season was short at just over a month and very busy with 2 games and 1 practice each week. He and Ashley each had a soccer practice and game each week too; it's busy but they love it and it's so fun to watch. Andrew started pretty unsure what he was really supposed to do. It didn't help that the league is made up of 1st and 2nd graders and our team was made up of all newbies and mostly first graders, and our first game was against an intense 2nd grade team. The second game we played 1st graders. Andrew got a touchdown, figured out that pulling flags was awesome fun and his whole team had a blast. Below, Andrew is far left running the ball. Dave wasn't the head coach, that was actually Andrew's friend's mom and she did a great job organizing everything, but Dave did end up being the coach on the field for every game except one. Dave may not know it but, he's a great coach for kids and Andrew so loves having him!

On Defense
The games continued the same way; if we played 2nd graders we got crushed, if we played 1st graders we did really well or at least pretty well. Andrew ended the season with 3 touchdowns (though 1 got called back, I still count it), lots of great runs and many, many great blocks and flag pulls. Andrew is very smart, can anticipate the ball and is fast! He learned a lot and was a very valuable member of his young team. He got better and tougher each game and we were so proud of him!
