October Football, Soccer, and Silver Lake

Andrew's football practices kept on happening. 4 times a week for 2 hours each. The weather was warm and beautiful for much of October.
Games kept happening too. Every Saturday and often so far away. His team is small, it's made up of 20 kids and 6 of them are young and should play down an age division but, there weren't enough so the teams were merged. Skyline play against A teams from areas with tons and tons of kids and so, it's really pretty lame. Those teams have A, B, C, and more teams, so our little first time kids are up against big, experienced teams. They lost each game but, did their best and a few times came close. The coaches were very supportive and upbeat always.
Andrew grew to hate it. He was bored of so much practice but mostly doesn't like the tackling contact, and because he didn't show any aggression, he didn't get many opportunities so it was also boring. He didn't quit but, sure wanted to. The worst of all was that he had to miss a few soccer games because of conflicting football games. He really hated that! He always played a better football game if he had already had a soccer game, and always played like he was uninterested if he was missing soccer.
Andrew is #41 and has neon green shoelaces. He plays tight end. He is barely 60 lbs and was usually up against kids with 20-40 lbs on him.
Hailey ready for a chilly soccer game. She loves being a soccer kid!
We spent Conference Sunday afternoon at Silver Lake. It is wonderful to be in nature. The kids loved exploring and climbing. Unfortunately, I didn't even think about it being cold and some of us were unprepared. We had a wonderful time.
Refusing to smile for the camera
I spy Andrew and Ashley up high
Hailey wanted to be our photographer for a group shot. The only thing missing is her cute face!
