Over UEA break it seemed that everyone we knew was headed somewhere like California, St. George, or even Boston. Though not quite the same, we had our own adventure in fabulous Vernal! It was a fast, 30-hour get-away and just perfect for us. We actually had a really fun time.

Andrew and Dave at the Quarry in Jensen, Utah. It's just been re-done and re-opened and is the neatest part of the whole Dinosaur area.
Dinosaurs Daddy and Ashley
Hailey, Katie (hidden in the front pack) and me
Throwing rocks in a beautiful river. This ended sadly when Hailey picked up a too-big rock and tried to throw it. Unfortunately Andrew was gathering rocks right in front of her and she dropped her rock right on the back of his head. He had a good bump and lots of tears. It was pretty unlucky.
Our hotel was very nice and the kids sure loved the pool and hot tub. We went to the pool on Friday night and again Saturday morning. Ashley said that our one day trip to Vernal was "the best trip ever" and "better than the beach because it has a pool and hot tub". Apparently we are over paying to go to Newport each year.
Sure glad we got Hailey a water cast!
The Dinosaur Museum is very, very modest but, Andrew was loving it. He wanted his picture taken with each exhibit. I have about 100 pictures of him posed with rocks, fossil and statues. We were so happy with the kids' good attitudes and enthusiasm. Andrew needs a haircut!
Aaaaaah!!
The entire area had Ashley signs; Ashley Creek, Ashley Medical Center, Ashley Trading Post. I just had to make her pose with one of them!
