Andrew has been taking swimming lessons nearly everyday since the first week of June. After trying a few different places, we found somewhere that I'm really happy with. Andrew has done several weeks of group and private lessons at this backyard pool that is just a 3 minute drive away. Despite the fact that these are the cheapest lessons we've had, they are the best, and he has learned and improved the most here. He isn't ready to swim on his own yet, not at all but, he can swim submerged really quite far to his teacher and has more confidence than he probably ought to.
One of Andrew fun qualities is that he is an expert negotiator. It's hilarious to listen to him talk his teachers into finishing up their planned drills sooner than they'd like and letting him play the games he wants. He'll say, 'how bout we swim 3 times, cause I'm 3, then we play Batman (on the kickboard)', or get to jump off the diving board, or shoot baskets or hide things on the steps, etc, he just loves games. We start another week on Monday, it's just so fun to watch him!
