Andrew is 10 years old! How can that be? This wonderfully fun, handsome, sweet, athletic, kind, funny kid made me a mom 10 whole years ago. I don't feel near old enough to have a 10 year old. He is growing up too quickly. It's heartbreaking to think that this boy who was my constant sidekick and best buddy now spends a lot of time away at school, at sports, at friends and someday he will be too big to cuddle and tickle. For now, he still loves to be tucked in, read to and cuddled at bedtime, he is ticklish and loves to joke and play. He is sweet and fun. He can be a wonderful big brother, though he doesn't always choose to be. He is talented and is learning to work hard. He is well liked and fun to be with. We are hard on him, perhaps because he's the oldest, or maybe because we can see that his potential is so impressive. He rises to the task and makes me so proud. Andrew is so special, precious, important, and is a gift from heaven. He will always be my everything.
Andrew's birthday party with friends was a huge hit the day before his actual birthday. The day of his birthday he had school and took a treat to share with his class.
We went looking for some fun gifts while Andrew was at school. Nate loved the bike aisle! We ended up getting Andrew a Pogo Stick he loved, a new skate board, a new soccer ball and a dodge ball. That's what I can remember.
A candy poster card from Dad and fun presents too, plus a bazillion new gifts from his friend birthday party the day before.
Andrew got to go with Daddy to the U of U opening Football game on his birthday too!

Hailey was patient and waited for her birthday party on September 2nd. It was a Favorite Things party filled with all Hailey's favorite things. We had the water bounce house, 7-11 store (just like last year), painting station, and dog station plus a cookie cake, ice cream and presents. It was a great party!

Hailey and her friends all had a wonderful time! She had about 20 friends plus siblings and cousins there.

Her cake was a cookie cake. It was so easy but, actually pretty expensive to do it this way.

The Sunday after Andrew and Hailey's birthdays we had all the family over for dinner. Here they are following the clues for a little scavenger hunt that ended in candy goody bags.
Time for dessert! After all that partying both Andrew and Hailey felt very celebrated and loved. They are each so special and important. I am so blessed and grateful for my amazing family!
The next day was Labor Day, and the Labor Day ward breakfast. It was lots of fun.
We went up to Park City for a long hike with the cousins. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. In a few months they'll be skiing where we hiked!

Kate started her first year of Preschool. She goes to Miss Dana twice a week for 2 hours each day. The first day was an open house for parents to stay. Kate really wanted me to leave! She was ready for her own day!
The next time was the real thing and she was so excited! She said "Yippity Skippity" when it was time to go.
The sun was so bright they couldn't look up! Hailey went to this preschool 2 years ago and loved it. Each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon I drop Kate off and then take Hailey to Kindergarten.

The kids painted their own school bags at preschool on the open house day. Hers turned out so nicely!
Soccer is in full swing each Saturday with games for Andrew, Ashley, Hailey and now Kate!

Hailey strapped bell toys to her ankles and ran around the house while June tried to catch the bell toys. It was so funny and clever.
Kate is on a soccer team through the rec center with kids from the ward. The first game she didn't really know what to do and just stood there. Then, the ball actually hit into her and she seemed to realize that it wasn't scary. She started being aggressive and was one of the star players of the team. She had goals, ran for the ball, always wanted to play and did great!
Another Utah Game! I don't remember why Andrew got to go to two in a row but, I hope it was because Ashley was busy with something else. Andrew and Ashley switch off turns to the U games with Dave.
