A visit to PetsMart to see the fish and small caged animals. We also took a look at dog supplies like this dog bed, just getting ideas for what we'll need for our puppy.
We hosted another of our backyard movie nights the first day of July. Our kids love these and it seems that all their friends do too. We have huge turnouts of mostly kids getting dropped off, and a handful of families. We have a table with popcorn, water and give each kid a snow cone, plus most bring some sort of treat to add to the table. It all gets eaten up quickly!
Nate usually wanders around, sits for a few minutes with someone he knows, or someone he doesn't who seems nice. He is a delightful boy and so cute that everyone just loves him.
The next day we invited the cousins to come with us to Cowabunga Bay. We had tickets for everyone which is even more fun.
Nathan loves the kiddie area and the zero entry pool.
Kate also loves the kiddie area and this zero entry pool. This pool helped her feel safe in the water and become more confident to be in the water.
Kim and Russ even came for a couple hours. When Kim and Russ left, they took Callie and baby Charlie home too. The rest of us were having too much fun to go. We kept Will and Lizzie with us and played for a long time!
Nate, Andrew, Hailey, Dave, Kate (on Dave's back), Liz, Ashley and Will
Hailey loves the purple slide. She also is crazy about the lazy river!
Nate loves the purple slide in kiddie land. Here we are waiting in line. At the end of each ride he says "Gen" as in Again.
Kate could go on the purple slide all day too.
Daddy spends most his time on the big slides with Andrew and Ashley; our thrill seekers. But, he loves to take a turn on the purple slide with Nate.
The big slides having freezing cold water so after a few slides the big kids usually come running for the lazy river and pool where the water is warm.
The next day was Sunday, July 3rd. Nathan's nursery leader is my dear friend Michele Schmidt. She sent me this picture of sweet Nate in nursery. Nate did not like nursery for the first couple months but, he turned the corner and now he likes it quite a bit.
After church with my patriotic cuties!
I shouldn't use this picture since sweet Kate is picking her nose but, everyone else looks so sweet and Nate's little pose is darling, so I have to.
That evening we did fireworks at the end of our circle. We love our street and neighbors and love our tradition of doing fireworks with them all week leading up to the 4th.

Kate. She has the sweetest, prettiest little face.
Ashley is always having fun.

That night the cousins had a sleep over at our house. We had to get up and ready quickly in the morning to get to the Millcreek Parade bright and early.
Dave and I got up early and went to put chairs out on the parade route to save our spots. We got a great spot. Then we worked fast to get everyone ready. We dropped Andrew, Ashley, Callie, Liz and Will off at the ward to be part of the parade. They had decorated scooters and candy to throw to the crowd as they walked. Then we met up with Dave's family at the Dan's parking lot, walked to our chairs and waited for the parade. It worked out so nicely this year.
~
Here's pretty Hailey waiting for the parade to start. She loves gathering the candy and trinkets that get thrown!
Charlie and Nate
Kate and Hailey
Here come our scooter kids! Once they got to us they sat down and watched the last of the parade.
Callie, Ashley and Will.
She filled my camera bag with her loot. Next year and need to bring them little buckets.
Ashley's happiest, most sincere smile comes out when meeting a new, friendly dog.
We weren't sure what to do to fill up the day off. It was a hot, hot day so Kim and I met up at the Cottonwood Heights pool and spent a couple hours there. It was way too crowded for me but, the kids never seem to mind that. Dave stayed home with napping Nate.

Andrew on the diving board
Ashley on the diving board
Kate on the little slide. She was really tired so she wasn't having as much fun and was ready to head home.
Ashley coming off the big slide
Kate sat on the sidewalk and I put a towel on her. Her floaties made her look like she had a big football player body but no legs. We all laughed and laughed!
That evening we went to Nana's for dinner. By then Hailey had changed from her 4th of July clothes into a Cat suit costume. She is so funny and cute!
My 5 sweets
Ashley giving Nate a fast ride!
After dinner we went over to the Holladay City fireworks. We sat on the grass and oooed and awed. it was too dark for pictures. Here's us loaded back in the car at the end. Tired and ready for bed.
Kate asleep on the couch the next afternoon. A big fun 4th of July weekend wore her out!
Making cupcakes with my Ashley
Hailey driving Kate in the monster truck. She's a fast and crazy driver! But, actually she does pretty well.
Andrew and Ashley aren't allowed to use the newer red monster truck because they're too big, they can only use their older blue one. It is slow and rickety now. We took videos of them racing. It was hilarious. Andrew finally hoped out and pushed from behind. Hailey and Kate loved being fastest and couldn't stop laughing!
Sweet Nate likes to drive a little too.
Andrew is busy with 2 Allstar Baseball practices a week, which means Dave is too, as coach this year. He gets home and joins our fun though.
The next day we went to Airborne for an hour. It was a fun excursion, though not my favorite trampoline place. Andrew and Ashley both brought friends and Kim met us out there with a couple of her kids.
What I hated about this place was that kids under 2 weren't allowed on anything. I could've lied but then I'd have to pay full admission for him and it's pricey. I kept getting in trouble from the workers for letting him go on any trampolines and so my last choice was to stick him in this infant bouncer just to keep him contained.
Ashley bouncing up!
We headed home and set up the water bounce house. It's always the most fun!
That evening I took the kids to Red Butte Gardens. I had free tickets I'd gotten from the library. It was a warm and beautiful night and we were about the only people there. We had a wonderful time exploring. Hailey brought her net because she really wanted to catch a bunny. She saw one and chased but, it was too quick.
Ashley leaping through the water in the kid's area
And Andrew too
Hailey and Kate had no interest in getting soaking wet.
Katie Kate
And now Hailey. I label them because even though I would never mix them up, people often comment that they look like twins. Someday I hope they can glance at these books and it might be helpful that they are labelled.
Hailey also tried to catch a fish
Ashley reaching for the waterfall
In the sand pit
Red Butte has a small kid's maze of leafy tunnels that are so fun to run around in.
I love Nate's kissy face!
Ashley running fast in a game of tag
We saw this rattlesnake eating a mouse along the path. It scared me to death. Ashley just wanted to get closer. Luckily, it slithered into the bushes and we could pass.
