The first week of July:
Last week of swim lessons at Cottonwood Heights
Andrew begged me to let him play racquetball at Cottonwood Heights. Luckily, the front desk lady let us use the court for free after swim lessons one day for about 45 minutes. Andrew had the best time. He is naturally athletic and enjoys trying any type of sport and catches on quickly.

A fun visit to the water fountains at Liberty Park with our cousins. We brought tin foil to make little boats for racing. The kids always have fun running around. But, Joe and Callie are getting older and growing out of these things. It is sad really. I had to tell Andrew and Ashley to have fun and do what they like, rather than act like the teenagers. Once they got going they had fun and it helped the older kids loosen up a little too.
Hailey and William always play together. William is a year and a half older and does just about whatever she does. Hailey LOVES that.
The water didn't seem as dirty when we were there but looking at these pictures it seems disgusting!
More swimming at the neighbors pool!
The 4th of July was a Saturday, so Daddy was off work on the 3rd and half of the 2nd, so we had lots of time for fun. He could come swimming with us!

Sweet Nate is a wonderful baby. Always smiling, always easy to please. He is a very social baby! He just loves people and attention. He smiles at everyone so quickly.

The kids begged to go ice skating. It seemed like the silliest idea to me but, it turned out to be perfect. It was empty (since everyone else was swimming) and refreshing (since it was so hot outside). Dave, Andrew, Ashley and Hailey skated. Kate, Nathan and I cheered them on and were there to chat when someone needed a rest. We all had a good time!

More Fireworks at the end of the circle. We love spending lots of nights doing fireworks with the Mecham Family.
Our cousins came to join us a couple times too.

On the 4th of July we love the Millcreek Parade. Kate and Hailey had front row seats to catch candy. They aren't very aggressive but, were able to get a bunch anyway.

Ashley loves to be IN the parade, riding her scooter and throwing out candy. So, Dave walked in the parade with her, while the rest of us watched. She says she wants to always be in the parade.

After the parade we headed to Cherry Hill and brought the Farnsworth Family along too. We always have so much fun there.
Nathan is beautiful, cuddly, sweet, and a dream come true.

At 9 months old Nathan is army crawling very well and can get anywhere he wants to go pretty quickly. He is curious, loves to touch and grab toys and anything within reach.

I just had to take a picture of sweet Nathan asleep during sacrament meeting. I love that handsome little face. Look at those big, kissable lips!

A trip to the Children's Museum. When Andrew and Ashley were little we used to have a membership and go to the museum all the time. Now, we go once a year when we get free tickets through the Library program. It is always so fun. All the kids love it.

I was brave and took my 5 kids plus 4 MORE bowling at Fat Cats, by myself. We took Charlie Pike and 3 Johnsens: Job, Simon and Jemima. The older kids had a great time but, with a two year old and 2 four years olds, who were bored of it after a few frames, plus a baby that wanted to move around, I was thrilled when it was over.

Kate cries with real terror every time Andrew, Ashley or Hailey are in the swimming pool and I say that it is time to go, if they don't get out immediately. She is afraid that they are going to drowned or get left behind or something horrible. Then, as I get the pool cover closer the kids like to swim to the steps and exit as the cover closes very slowly as I push the button. It's all very safe but, Kate doesn't think so and she screams and cries and yells at them to get out of the pool. What's worse is that they think it's a little bit funny so they move slowly to torment her. Really, it's adorable that she loves them so and is so worried about her best buddies.
