Hailey turned 4! Oh my goodness, she is a spunky, sweet, energetic, loving girl! She keeps us guessing from minute to minute and we love her so very much. Hailey has a big personality in a very small body. She knows what she wants and has a mind of her own. She is fun, funny, kind, smart, clever, observant, affectionate, sensitive and cute as a button. Hailey loves sugar and can find any mint of piece of gum hidden anywhere. If she is after junk food she is an excellent climber. She is timid and shy sometimes but, loves to make new friends and have fun. She loves to eat and is always hungry. She asks for shows several times a day. She has followed Ashley's example and loves dogs and animals. She loves to go to preschool, dance and play dates. She is intimidated by big slides and not usually a dare devil, though she surprises us sometimes too. Hailey is a joy, a blessing and such a sweet buddy to me. I love her so much and was thrilled to celebrate her fabulous birthday!
~
Hailey's birthday was the start of Labor Day weekend. We spent the day at Cherry Hill with our cousins. It started out a chilly day with sprinkles and I worried what we would do for plan B. Luckily, the sun came out after about an hour and we spent the rest of the day having lots of fun!
Sweet Sisters! Katie is growing tall, tall, tall and has nearly caught up to Hailey! I get asked if they're twins all the time.
Loving the warm lazy river
The cousin crew. There is nothing better than time with cousins.
Exhausted in the car ride home after so much fun!
That night we had a simple pink heart cake and presents with family
Hailey had asked for a list of presents a mile long, just everything she'd ever seen. But, her favorite present, and the only she asked for consistently, was a mermaid barbie that could get wet.
After opening each present she'd quickly put it behind her back so no one else could see or touch it. Then she took everything upstairs and put it on her nightstand and hoped no one would notice them. She definitely feels like she needs to hoard and protect what's hers.
Hailey's birthday party was a week late because of Labor Day weekend. In our family the first year of a friend party is the year they turn 4.She was so excited! She loves candy more than anything else so, it was a candy land party.
~
I was just too busy and so I ordered the invitations. We attached a lollipop and had fun delivering them to her darling group of little girl friends.
On the morning of the party it sprinkled, then shined, then sprinkled....I didn't know where the weather would end up so, we set everything up for inside. Then, just before the party started it was beautiful and we moved everything out again.
My Candy Land cake. Not bad for no plan, no preparations and not much time at midnight the night before.
Our traditional special birthday picture wall. Our kids love this tradition and I do too. Andrew and Hailey's birthdays are so close that we both their picture walls at once.
Cookie Decorating Station
Life Size Candy Land Game (in the garage because of the early sprinkles)
Coloring Station just after the Fruit Loop Necklace Station
Balloon Races Station
Pinata! I tried to talk Hailey into the pinata shaped like a cupcake but, she was set on the puppy.
Cake Time
Opening Presents
We sent the girls home with a bag of candy, more candy from the pinata, their fruit loop necklace, coloring sheet, sugar cookie, gumdrop balloon and probably a serious tummy ache. She had such a fun party and so easy and low stress too. We marveled at how different it was to celebrate with ten 3 and 4 year-old little girls are compared to Andrew's party of twenty-five plus 7 and 8 year-old boys.
Happy Birthday to my wonderful, sweet, beautiful Hailey girl.
We love you so very much now and forever!
