Swim Lessons

We signed up for a quick 3 week session of 6 swim lessons at Cottonwood Heights in February and March. The kids loved it and I loved it too because 1) we were able to be with our friends the Klevens, which meant carpooling and someone for me to chat with too 2) All 3 of my kids could take their 30 minute lesson at the same time 3) I left Kate home with Dave most of the time and I could just watch in peace 4) It was Hailey's first swim lesson and she was a wild woman who loved it more than anyone else - ever 5) the kids all swam great and 6) It's so fun to have a chance to swim in the winter and brush up a bit too.

Hailey's review sheet from her teachers said she was the cutest little crazy girl ever and that they loved her giggle. She was a riot to watch and you could hear her yelling "Mom, watch!" from anywhere. I think she took up 80% of the teachers' time with her antics. Who knew? They passed her up to the next level...probably just to get her on to a new teacher!

 She didn't like wearing her goggles but, she was so proud of herself for going under the water. 

 Always happy Ashley didn't have a friend in her class but, no bother. She never cares; she always makes new friends and has a fun time too. Her teacher described her as a great swimmer, a burst of energy and someone who makes lessons fun. All spot on. 

 Andrew is always well liked by teachers because he performs whatever he's asked. He is a great little swimmer. He definitely needs stroke work and technique but for a regular, rec-pool kid, he's great. He loves to goof off but, is usually smart enough to know to only mess around during a break or when teacher isn't watching.  

 He spent most of his time submerged. 

 He was so excited to go off the tall spring board on the last day. He ran and jumped without a thought. 

Over and over again. 

 He liked the low dive too

We won't have time for more swim lessons until summer, which is too bad, especially for Hailey. The kids had so much fun and did so well that I'm really glad we could fit these ones in.
