April 2017

April means welcomed warmer weather and the start of all the busy spring sports and activities. There are no school breaks and lots of to-do lists. It was a happy, healthy, successful month and I'm grateful for it.
These two sweets love driving the monster truck around!
Another day, another drive.
Katie with her buddy Jerusha
Nate and the Fire Truck at Upland Terrace.
This school year Ashley has the incredible teacher, Mrs. Duff. I was her volunteer to coordinate mystery readers to come each month. I scheduled to have the fire dept come for April. I waited nervously in the parking lot, hoping they didn't have a real emergency come up so that they could  come up. Both 3rd grade classes were anxiously waiting inside! I felt a huge relief when they showed up right on time!
Upland Terrace Art Night
I was one of the two Art Volunteers for each of my kiddos 3 classes this year. I went to each of their classes every other month to do the projects and also worked to hang and display the art for the 3  classes for Art Night. It was a lot of work but it turned out nicely.

Oh my goodness they drive this truck a lot!
A mid-week, solo ski break for Dave
Hailey-Daddy date night to the Jazz game.
After soccer game play date for Andrew with James B and Matt K.
Cute Nate at nursery. He loves nursery and always runs in for fun!
Dinner at Nana and Papa's house with an Easter Bunny pinata!
Hailey worked on learning to ride a two-wheel bike here and there but we weren't able to make much progress at all. Then one day she woke up and told me that she'd had a dream that she could ride a bike. She was so excited! That dream gave her the confidence that she could do it and the motivation to really try. She tried and went a few sidewalk squares (which was her furthest yet), tried a few more times and was able to go several squares. The next day she tried again and was completely off and on her own. Her first day of bike riding was April 7th, 2017. She is great and she loves it!
Ashley loves sports and is loves to play basketball out in the driveway.
Baseball time again! Here's handsome #9 on the red Angels team during the opening ceremony flag presentation.
Katie goes to Mrs. Dana's for preschool. I got to be a helper at the Easter party. She was excited and it was fun to see her in her school setting. My job was the outdoor egg hunt.
Nate went to each station just like the preschool kids. He fit right in and had lots of fun!
We went to the free U of U scrimmage game. It was sort-of boring but, we got free Jamba Juice smoothies and met up with the Farnsworth cousins, so that's pretty good.
Hula Hooping Hailey
Nate loves guns, swords, legos, pirates, trains, trucks, shovels, tractors and all things boy. It's hilarious.
Cute Katie loves to play one-on-one soccer in the front yard
Dying our Easter Eggs
Easter Morning. Hailey wears her bunny suit all the time so it made sense to wear it all day on Easter!
She added the black bow-tie and that really made me laugh! She's so funny!
Grandma Suzanne and Mac came just before church on Easter to give some nice Easter gifts and visit.
I really tried for a nice Easter picture but, I couldn't manage to get all 5 sets of eyes looking at me at the same time. They each smiled and looked but, not at the same time! Oh well!
Nate wears sunglasses all the time. On our way to Nana and Papa's for Easter Dinner we couldn't tell if he was sleeping or not.
The cousins (minus Lydia) ready for Sunday dinner at Nana and Papa's house on Easter.
The girls made up a short lip-sinc dance and Katie was the "Princess Star". It was so cute how special she felt and how bashful she was about being in the spotlight.
Egg Hunt
Family picnic at Upland Terrace. Each grade has a different time slot on one of two days. The little kids and I go two days in a row so we can hit the kindergarten, 3rd and 4th grade picnic times.
Katie loves her green scooter!
Ashley and Hailey joining in on the group activity at Andrew's Scout Pack Meeting
Andrew doing a part at Pack Meeting. Looks like he forgot his scout shirt - hehe!
Ashley's class went on a field trip to This is the Place and I was a chaperone. She has the most wonderful teacher and I so appreciate how much Ashley has learned and grown this year! The field trip was chilly but, we had a fun time.
Soccer games each Saturday are fun for the kids. And seeing dogs at the games is a bonus.
Hailey made Nana a big, colorful flower for her birthday. She worked all on her own and it was pretty impressive how she did it. She's a crafty, creative, giving girl and we love her.
Ready for kindergarten on a cold day.
Nate giving Hailey's friend Ruthie a ride in the rain.
Nate love to be a worker man!
Wednesday morning Music Makers is lots of fun.
This sweet boy Nathan can't get enough of tools and working. He loves cleaning tools and spray bottles so much too.
A morning scooter ride in her robe (and no shirt) is just Hailey's style.
Ashley had a trip to the dog shelter. She loves to be there and doesn't mind the smell and filth like I do. She is an animal lover through and through.
Dave and I on a date to a Jazz Playoff game. The Jazz lost but, we had fun.
Hailey playing soccer (lots more of that to come).
