I front loaded our summer with all the camps the kids would have in hopes that the end of the summer would be care free. There was basketball camp, soccer camp, gymnastic camp, ballet lessons and the biggest commitment was Allstar Baseball. Andrew was lucky to make the Allstar Baseball team this year and that kept all of us very, very, very busy for the first four and a half weeks of summer.

Andrew and Ashley both did Skyline Track and Field. It was every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30am for an hour for the first 5 weeks of summer. We missed about 6 times because of late nights and fun things but, I felt pretty proud to have made it as many times as we did since we are not early risers. Both kids didn't ever want to go but, had a great time once they got there. Both kids had a handful of friends from school in their age groups too (there were well over one hundred kids total). Some days Andrew's group would run two full miles and I was really impressed how well he did on both long distance and sprints. I was really impressed that Ashley was so fast in her group; they generally worked on shorter distances. There was lots of running, races and tons of games too. It was a great program to get them moving first thing in the morning. Most days I walked the outside of the track with the little girls in the stroller and some days we just dropped them off. Here are some mock pictures from the very last day.
Andrew did a one week Basketball camp at Olympus High the first week of summer with Seth and Nathan. He had a great time!
Andrew and Ashley both did a one week soccer camp at Skyline. The camp was co-ed for 1st grade up through High School I think. Ashley was one of probably 4 girls out of more than 100 kids and one of only a couple first graders. Luckily she was put with Andrew's grade and he had a handful of friends that she also knew. Sadly, Andrew only got to go to 1 full night and 2 half nights because he was so busy with Allstar Baseball games and practices that week. They loved the camp.
Ashley did a one week Gymnastics camp at her gym. She missed one of the five days for a birthday party. The coaches really push the girls and I felt like she learned a lot in just the week. She has learned so much in these past few months. She now can do handstands to a bridge and then a kick-over back without any help. She learned a round-off this week and is close to having her back bend without a spot. Her cartwheels and handstands are still beautiful too. She has gained a lot of strength and loves gymnastics!

Ashley and Hailey are both taking a Ballet/Tap class and a tumbling class that i would call "so easy it's almost silly", at a nearby dance studio. They aren't in the same class but, it's fun and easy because Ashley starts in Ballet while Hailey starts in tumbling and then they switch and go straight to their next class. Ashley is with her friend Amelia and Hailey is on her own.

Our sweet neighbors continue to let us swim each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and we love it. With all the baseball commitments we really couldn't squeeze swim lessons in yet this summer. Each swim day I give Andrew and Ashley a mini-lesson working on their strokes and we've started learning to dive in from the side. We've been swimming plenty and they are both so comfortable and are swimming really well. Hailey loves to jump in from the side and kick around wearing her floaties but, she isn't swimming at all yet. She is still just 3 and will probably learn next summer.
