Katie is 21 months and busy as can be. She is growing taller and taller all the time and is catching up in height to Hailey in a hurry. She looked so cute in her dress on a June Sunday that I wanted a picture of her, especially because I have a few darling pictures of Hailey when she wore the same dress. Unfortunately she had a great big lollipop from church and was a sticky mess. She just wanted to play on our little slides and the trampoline anyway.
She has graduated from sliding down the slide to running down or sliding on her feet.
She gives a high 5 after each cool slide or trick
Katie still isn't talking as much as she ought to be but, has made some improvements. She says Mama, Dada, ball, uh-oh, baby, hi, no, yay, night-night, byb-bye, go, me, whee!, mu-ah (kiss), nana, and papa well. She will repeat most sounds you ask her to make. She also says more, dog, duck, bottle, and blankie but not as clearly. She sometimes says up, water, here-you-go, where'd-it-go and I don't know. She makes the sounds of a dog, cat, cow, duck and any animal that growls on command. She does flying sounds and arms anytime she sees or hears an airplane. She can understand just about anything and follows directions very well. She gets very frustrated when she wants something but, can't express it. She gets so excited to see an animal, especially a dog, which she's learned from her big sisters. She has a great bit bright smile, is as light as a feather, loves animals, eats well and likes healthy food as well as sweets, is super easy to put to bed and takes a nice 3 hour nap each day around 1. She loves putting on shoes, opening and closing doors, and carrying things from one room to the next. She screams at her siblings for taking things from her or things she wants, has bitten twice in the last week and is starting to throw tantrums. She takes a while to warm up to new people and has a serious scowl for a bit. She gives great hugs with her head nuzzled on my shoulder, loves to read books in her chair, loves to climb on things and is becoming a daredevil. She is a sweet thing and we love her.
Hailey entertained herself with a Little People parade while I took Katie's pictures. Hailey is incredibly kind to Katie, even though Katie makes that hard sometimes by always wanting what Hailey has.
Hailey can be as irrational as the next 3 year old but, she is lovable through and through. She's a pure sweetheart with so much love to give. She is smart, articulate, funny, kind, polite, complimentary, grateful, silly and the perfect size for cuddling. She is becoming more brave and enjoying fun things more and more too. She tries to be naked most the time, and like all 3 year olds she is particular and can be stubborn. She has a major sweet tooth and can find candy or gum in any purse or house, no matter what. She loves her blankie and sucks her thumb whenever blankie is near. Her favorite colors are pink and yellow but, she loves them all. She loves animals, especially dogs. She is an excellent eater and will try most things and like them. I love spending time with my Hay-Hay girl, especially in those moments when we get to be alone.
