6 Months Old

Miss Hailey turned 6 months old on March 1st, (since her half birthday should have been February 30th and that day doesn't exist.) She shares her half birthday with Andrew. 

Hailey had her 6 month checkup and weighed in at a whopping 12.9 lbs hitting the 4th percentile. Since then I've tripled my efforts and we're working on chunking her up. Her length was measured at 26.5 inches (77th percentile) and even though that would be great, as I watched her moving all around as she was measured I knew it was overly optimistic. Her head is a nice round 51st percentile.

She's a smiling, talking, schooching delight and we love her. She is darling and I would be so incomplete without her in my life. She loves to cuddle, laugh at Andrew, smile at everyone, grab everything, move everywhere and keep us on our toes.

Some things to remember about Hailey at six months old....

*She has graduated from bassinet to crib and now sleeps there at night. She sleeps great if she's in my bed (even if I'm not) and comes in with me most mornings around 6, then sleeps with me until someone wakes us up near 8. *If she's left on her belly and sees a toy she wants, she'll scooch and get it; if she sees a piece of paper or plastic (that she really shouldn't have) she'll get to it fast, she loves to eat paper. *She moves like a little worm and can 'crawl' pretty far. She bounces and moves all over on her back too.*She laughs at anyone jumping, especially Andrew. *She is sometimes ticklish. *She laughs when her legs and arms are 'exercised' *She cries if we take away something she's playing with. *She likes all the veggies and fruits we've tried so far (peas, beans, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, prunes, and apples) and only likes baby oatmeal when it's mixed with another food. *Hailey was born with lots of black hair with a bright white patch right on her crown. Now her hair is brown with several blond areas.*She discovered her thumb about a month ago. She sucks her left thumb all the time and we both loves that. *She does not like to be reclined; she must be held facing out or over a shoulder. *She does not like to sit up; she arches her back and fusses immediately. *She likes tubby time a lot and especially likes to watch a cup of water be poured on her belly and hands over and over. *She's tough: she has 2 teeth that didn't bother her at all. She had an ear infection that became a ruptured ear drum and I had no idea because she just wasn't at all fussy. *She likes to pull hair *She is a flirt and smiles and talks all day long *She loves to blow bubbles and talk loudly *She still has a slew of nicknames and seems to recognize her name a little bit. *We love, love, love our Hailey Babe and can hardly believe she's already 6 months old!
