April 2015

April is a fun and busy month. Besides Spring Break there is still lots going on. Spring Soccer started up. Andrew and Ashley both love their teams and games each Saturday.

Another after church picture. Andrew changed out of his Sunday clothes double speed this day.
I love these funny pictures that capture how it really is. My kids are wonderful, funny and so fun to be with but, taking posed pictures doesn't usually work well for everyone and that's ok.

Baseball also started up. Spring is just a bust time.
Ashley has a late birthday so she could stay in the coach pitch/tball league this year. Most first graders are already 7 and had to move to fast machine pitch. She's the only girl playing but doesn't seem to mind one bit. This year they replaced coach pitching with a slow machine pitch that lobs the ball in. They get 3 machine pitches and then if they don't hit it they use the Tee. Ashley hit from the machine about half the time and did great.
She got a runner out at first in her first game, something that rarely happens in these younger age games.

I was able to be a helper for Hailey's preschool Easter party. Her teacher is Miss Dana. She teaches in the basement of her home in Canyon Rim. We both love it!

Playing at the Celeste Church

I was able to chaperone the first grade field trip to the Ballet West Aladdin. It was so fun to be with my Ashley girl.

Katie loved this bear named Ida for weeks and never let it go, until she did, and now we can't find it. Oh well, he was a good friend we've enjoyed since Andrew was a baby. Look at Katie's sweet face! She couldn't possibly be cuter!

Nathan at 7 1/2 months

After a very mild winter it snowed in mid-April

Andrew's first Pinewood Derby. Each boy's car raced 4 times in a race of 4 cars. Andrew's came in first, first, second and fourth. He didn't finish in the top to move on but, had so much fun and felt like a winner with those first few victories.

Tired Hailey

 Cheering at Ashley's soccer game

The kids got Slurpees after the soccer games and Katie was so tired she fell asleep while eating it. It was hilarious.

 A Sunday after Church

Riding bikes and walking at the Celeste Church parking lot for a Family Night activity
Ashley loves the electric scooter

Andrew is having fun trying to learn to skateboard

Soccer Picture Day for Andrew's team. Coach Darrin, Matthew, Rigby, Matthew, Andrew, Davis, Coach Michael, Joey, Landon, Charlie and Seth

A sweet moment when Hailey took such good care of Kate at Library Story Time

We have had a rainy, rainy Spring!

Hailey still naps when she needs to and always in fun places.

She also dresses herself each day. It's fun to see what she chooses.

Going to cousin Charlie's baby blessing

Charlie, Lydia and Nathan after Charlie's blessing. Nathan at 7 months and the cousins at 4 months.

Katie officially moved out of her crib and into her big girl bed. She calls it her Baby Bed and loves it now. She doesn't take great naps anymore but does take a nap either in her bed, in the car or somewhere in the house when she is tired. She is pretty independent about it.

Nathan began liking his solid foods more and more. He still loves to nurse most but, is a good sport about most baby foods and is starting to try baby puffs and other small things a little bit.

He has always loved bath time

Hailey finished up a dance and art class. It was fun to watch her on parent participation day. She does not like performing and so this was fun for her.

We try to make it to Music Makers each Wednesday at the church. It's free, easy and the kids have fun learning new songs and dancing around.

Enjoying the playground during Ashley's soccer practice

Ashley's soccer team picture. This will be her last year with this group since next year she will start with an all girl team. The kids from our neighborhood are Cole, Ashley, Ezra and Aiden (not pictured). She has loved this team with the kids from our ward and new friends too. Ashley LOVES meeting new friends so much.

Ashley's teacher said she saved this writing to give to us because she was so impressed with Ashley's writing and handwriting. We are proud of our hard-working Ashley girl!

Andrew chose to be Jim Abbott for the 2nd Grade Wax Museum. He was darling.
After the Museum they sang Patriotic Songs and about 15 children had speaking parts. Their singing was sooo good. I was really impressed. Andrew had a speaking part and did it just right.

Cute sisters after one of Ashley's games. We had asked Hailey if she wanted to play, since she could have been on Ashley's same team but, she didn't really want to.
