February 2018 - Part 2

We spent President's Day weekend in St. George thanks to Andrew's soccer tournament. The weather was warmer than in Salt Lake. Monday morning started out super cold so the players needed warm clothes for the game but, it turned sunny by the end. We visited the Temple grounds, ate out at a few fun places, swam in the hotel pool several times, went to a fun play ground park, climbed and adventured at a rock park, dug in the sand at Snow Canyon and of course, watched some great soccer. There were two lows of the trip; first, on the first night we stayed in a horribly ghetto hotel because the nicer hotel we could only book for the 2nd and 3rd nights. There were bugs, holes in the wall and it was just plain disgusting. The high following that was that we checked out as early as possible the next morning and were able to check in early to an extra nice room at the Marriott. The other low of the trip was that Sunday afternoon Andrew's ear began hurting incredibly badly. Dave waited with him in an instacare and learned that he had an ear infection. The blessing of that being that antibiotics made him feel better by the next morning and he was able to play in his game on Monday. Andrew's team lost in the championship game, so they took 2nd place. Andrew did well and his coach was proud of him. He was even awarded captain in one game because of his hard work in the previous. We had a fun trip and were proud of Andrew for his hard work.
